NATC 2018 : Samsung India Publicized AI Platform in India IT Ecosystem

Samsung India (SRI-Delhi) participated in NATC 2018 conference and introduced AI platform and product solutions on September 26th and September 27th 2018 at Leela Ambience, Gurgaon, India. NATC 2018 (National Annual Technology Conference) organized by NASSCOM, is India's largest technology conference with over 100+ IT Companies and 1000+ attendees participated in this conference event.

We've also demonstrated Samsung’s Technology capabilities like AI, IoT, Smart TV etc and delivered the keynote on AI Platform : Next Generation User Experience and showcased Samsung’s Bixby Voice & Vision Intelligence from VP Vikram Vij , Samsung India (SRI-Bangalore). Also organized a Policy Roundtable discussion involving India Government officials on AI Research & Reskilling required.

Following a welcoming speech by Debjani Ghosh, President NASSCOM in September 26th , eight global R&D leaders including Deep Kalra, founder & Group CEO MakeMy Tirp , Vibhore Sharma, CTO, Infoedge, Charumitra Pujari, VP Machine Learning Paytm Labs, Sriram Raghavan, Vice President, IBM Research & CTO IBM India, Dr. Vikram Vij, VP & Voice Intelligence R&D Head, Samsung, Chaitanya Chunduri, Country Lead AR/VR Google, Suresh Rayasam, Head of Engineering, LinkedIn India, Shailesh Kumar Chief Data Scientist,Reliance JiO gave keynote speeches, where they focused on “THRIVING IN SMART TRANSFORMATION” which included Immersive Experience, Intelligent Automation, Architectures, AI / IoT Platforms etc.

"Reskilling MUST become the new industry imperative. We have to shift focus from protecting jobs to protecting people". Debjani Ghosh said in her welcome note speech.

VP Vikram Vij from Samsung India (SRI-Bangalore) delivered the kyenote on AI Platform: Next Generation User Experience and showcased Samsung’s Bixby Voice & Vision Intelligence (India). He highlighted the need for an AI Platform to meet rising user expectations in their digitally connected lifestyle. Voice, Vision & Data Intelligence as key components of an AI Platform used to create new experiences & value for users.

As we’ve mentioned, AI-based ChatBots, DTV Convergence, Smart Browser, Samsung-Nagra TVKey, DTV Ambient TV, Smart Home Appliance Family Hub solutions that are developed for emerging markets, were demonstrated in Samsung Technology exhibition booth.

Also, Policy roundtable discussion was organized by NASSCOM, which included Government officials, industry leaders and academic faculty in which policy requirements related to standards for open data platform for Big Data and Analytics, Reskilling needs for AI and data privacy and protection (GDPR) were discussed through a lively debate.

In Future, Samsung India (SRI-Delhi) plans to engage more in the India Ecosystem using the good network of industry partners in NASSCOM to understand needs of India market and IT ecosystem and through collaboration with various industry partners in NASSCOM would like to introduce new key platforms & technologies like Smart Machine Platform, On-Device AI etc in the coming years.
